Quartz Grain
Quartz is also known as Sillicon Di-oxide( SiO2)
It is mainly used for Glass making.The primary use of Quartz is in manufacturing of glass-ware , Ceramic & Ceramic glazes.It is also used for manufacturing Refractory & Silica bricks , Ferro-silicon & Ferro-alloys.It is also used as flux in smelting of bare metal ores and as source of Sillicon metal. High quality Quartz Crystals are used in Electronic Components , Multiple Telephonic Devices , Depth Sounding Devices , Range Finders & Chromometers.
It is generally Colourless (coloured in some cases) , white to milky-smoky white , And transparent to opaque.The crystals are hexagonal prisms terminated by rhombohedral faces ,prism faces are always striated perpendicular to their length. The lusture is vitreous and fracture is conchoidal.
